My Natural Cleaning Cupboard (and the Recipes I Use Most)

Hello Beautiful Friends!

Spring cleaning is a seasonal ritual that I love! Every spring I open the windows, let the fresh air in, and do a proper deep clean of the house.

Welcome back to Oceans Bliss Portal! These are natural spring cleaners I actually use at home! After years working in spas and detox retreats, I got used to simple cleaning ingredients instead of shelves full of chemical products. The funny thing is, most of the best cleaners are things you probably already have in your pantry.

A Simple Natural Cleaning Cupboard

Honestly, most homemade cleaners come down to a few basic ingredients:

• white vinegar
• baking soda
• washing soda
• borax
• castile soap
• citrus peels
• pine needles

1. Natural “Magic Eraser” for Stains

This works surprisingly well for sinks, tubs, scuff marks, sticky spots, and those random mystery stains that appear around the kitchen.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups hot water
  • 1 tablespoon borax
  • 1 tablespoon washing soda

How to use: Mix everything together and soak a cloth, (I like using Swedish cloths), in the solution for a few minutes. Wring it out and scrub stains on sinks, tubs, counters, or walls. It’s especially good for fingerprints, soap scum, and stubborn kitchen marks.

2. Natural Window Cleaner

Simple and effective. I use this for windows, mirrors, and sometimes even stainless steel.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 1 cup warm water
  • Optional: a few drops of lemon essential oil

How to use: Pour into a spray bottle, spray lightly, and wipe with a cloth or even old newspaper. No streaks, no strong chemical smell,  just clear glass.

3. Pine Needle Disinfectant

This one is more of a spring ritual than just a cleaner. Every year I gather pine needles and make a vinegar infusion that turns into a natural disinfectant. When you clean with it, the whole house smells like a forest. It’s simple, inexpensive, and one of my favorite seasonal habits.

4. Baking Soda Sink & Tub Scrub

This is my go-to when something needs a little scrubbing power.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup baking soda
  • 2–3 tablespoons liquid Castile soap
  • Optional: a few drops lemon essential oil

How to use: Mix into a paste and apply with a sponge. Scrub sinks, tubs, stovetops, or tile and rinse. It cuts grime well but won’t scratch surfaces.

5. Citrus Peel Degreaser

If you cook a lot, you’ll love this one. It’s great for stovetops, cupboards, and greasy kitchen spots.

Ingredients

  • Peels from 2–3 oranges or lemons
  • White vinegar
  • Glass jar

How to make: Fill a jar with citrus peels and cover with vinegar. Let it sit for about 2–3 weeks, then strain and dilute half vinegar mixture, half water into a spray bottle. The citrus oils help naturally break down grease.

6. Natural Floor Wash

A simple cleaner that works for tile, laminate, and sealed floors.

Ingredients

1 gallon warm water
1 cup white vinegar
1 tablespoon liquid castile soap

How to use: Mix in a bucket and mop as usual. It cleans well and doesn’t leave behind that sticky residue some commercial cleaners do.

7. Baking Soda Carpet Freshener

This is an easy way to freshen carpets, rugs, or even mattresses.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup baking soda
  • Optional: 10 drops lavender or lemon essential oil

How to use: Sprinkle lightly over carpets or rugs and let sit for about 15–30 minutes, then vacuum. It absorbs odors naturally instead of masking them.

With those alone you can clean almost every cleaner in your house. Simple recipes, but they make a home feel fresh again. 🌿
