Take the Road Less Travelled

Hello Beautiful Friends!
Hi Friends, I want to share a personal story with you about the road less traveled. Have you ever read ‘The Road Not Taken’ by Robert Frost?..
That poem is my life in a nutshell. At 18, I stood at a crossroads: continue living a Canadian life that didn’t feel like me, or embrace the unknown and forge a new path.
I spent years exploring many interesting cultures and ways of life. It was exciting, challenging & educational… but I began to feel lost, as the winding roads seemed to take me farther from where I wanted to be..
It wasn’t until I found myself in Bali, surrounded by families who embraced a deep connection to spirituality, community and harmony with nature that I realized what I needed.) Simple traditional living.
For the next 12 years, I lived in this beautiful off-grid beach village in Bali. My hut didn’t have walls and I slept on a woven matt. I healed physically and spiritually and I found a deeper connection to nature and to God.
I learned to live simply. Water came from a well, and cooking was done with wood and fire. There was no electricity, no toilet or sink…plates were leaves and I ate with my fingers. It was a life stripped down to the bare essentials, and I loved it.
Eating the catch of the day and fresh, local, clean food connected me back to my health & the seasons, and the importance of growing, preserving, and making my own food.
But even in paradise, I felt my road leading me back to Canada. What’s meant for us will always find its way back, and I was meant to bring this life back home.
I share this story because life doesn’t have to be hard or only about survival. Life can be simple, joyful, and peaceful when you tune into your own heart and follow what feels right for you.
The road less travelled led me back to my bliss and a natural life rooted in tradition, family & faith – a simple path I now share with others through Oceans Bliss.
With Bliss xo
