As December kick offs, I find myself reflecting on a journey that led me back to where it all began – home. At the age of 34, after living and traveling across continents for 16 years, I made the final decision to return to British Columbia. It was more than just a physical relocation; I knew it was the missing puzzle piece in my pursuit of filling my heart with the essence of home.

Welcome back to Oceans Bliss Portal! When you spend a lifetime searching for a place to call home, only to discover that the place you were born holds the roots of your belonging becomes a remarkable moment of realization. So today’s post, my Life Highlight No12 contemplates how the most profound healing journeys often guide us back to our origin, back-to-bliss, to where our story began.

My life wasn’t a conventional one. It was a life ripe with tales you’d find within the pages of a novel. However, despite the excitement of my adventures, a yearning constantly persisted—a desire for roots to sink into, for a home to call my own.

They say home is where the heart is, where family congregates, where cherished memories live forever in the walls and foundation. It was this essence that I yearned for—a place where I could raise my own family, build cherished moments, and establish some levels of comfort I was unaccustomed to.

The longing for home wasn’t just about physical house; it encapsulated the yearning for a solid foundation from which to grow further. It embodied the notion of finding completeness, of reaching a juncture where I could cultivate my dreams amid the familiarity of loved ones and the serenity of a place I could unequivocally call home.

So here I am, in the heart of December, with the adage “home is where the heart is” singing in my head.  I believe home is a geographical location that holds a deep emotional hold; but it’s also a sanctuary that resonates within us—a spiritual anchor that nurtures our growth, fosters our dreams, and cradles our heart’s deepest yearnings.

As the year winds down and the festive spirit envelops us, I’m reminded that true bliss for me wasn’t found in my exotic escapades or grand adventures. True bliss was healing my heart so I could return home.
