Harnessing Inner Power: Hiking Mount Agung in Bali at Night
Share The Bliss
Hello Beautiful Friends!
September has arrived, and it brings with it the key to ignite my life’s highlight No9, a fresh beginning and a new adventure. Today, I want to share a story that will inspire you, especially if you’re an adventurer like me, to embrace the power of perseverance and tap into your inner strength to achieve the extraordinary.
Welcome back to Oceans Bliss Portal! Today’s story is a tale of two siblings, my brother and me, on a mission to conquer the mighty Mount Agung volcano in Bali and witness its breathtaking sunrise from the summit.
I was living in Bali, and my brother visited me in his early twenties. We both yearned for something new, something daring, and that’s when we decided to hike the awe-inspiring Mount Agung. Bali’s highest peak, impressively standing at 3,000 meters, Mount Agung is an active volcano known for its perfect conical shape, and it holds a significant spiritual role in Balinese culture as the third eye chakra of the Earth.
Mount Agung is not just a geological wonder; it’s deeply rooted in Balinese spirituality. Many pilgrims and seekers come to this sacred volcano to meditate, seek blessings, and connect with the divine energy believed to reside at its summit. And I must confess, after the locals found out about my hike to the summit, they seemed to have a touch more respect for me, knowing what ti takes to get to the top!
Our adventure started with a simple decision to embrace the unknown, setting in motion a chain of events that would ultimately unveil the incredible inner strength we possessed. It wasn’t just a choice we consciously made; it was a natural outcome of placing ourselves in a situation where we had no other option but to dig deep and tap into our blisservoir of power.
Our journey started like many others, with me arranging for a local tour guide named Komang, a serene and soft-spoken young man with an impressive record of having hiked the volcano more than 180 times. Komang didn’t reveal much about the journey, providing only the meeting time at the volcano’s base at 10:00 PM. He briefly outlined the plan: hike to the summit in time for sunrise, bask in the glorious view, and then descend. It all sounded so straightforward, but little did we know what lay ahead!
As the clock struck 10:00 PM, we stood at the base of Mount Agung, backpacks on, stocked with essentials, including food, water, flashlights, and extra batteries. An excitement rushing through our bodies and we were eager to begin! The darkness surrounded us like a heavy cloak and we only had our flashlights to pierce through the pitch dark night, I couldn’t even see a mere three feet in front of me! I have to admit, it didn’t take long for the reality of our situation to sink in. There was no clearly defined path, just rugged terrain uphill, often along cliff edges, and as we continued to hike, a nervousness began to creep into our hearts.
About four hours into the hike, Komang quietly asked if we could go on, he said we were only 40% up the mountain and needed to make a decision whether we could carry on. Our desire to turn back was overwhelming, reaching the summit seemed an impossible feat. Our subpar batteries had died and our our flashlights were useless. We felt scared. We sat in silence enveloped by the darkness and took a break.
During that moment of rest, something extraordinary happened. In a heartbeat, a fierce power surged within us, banishing doubt and replacing it with an unshakable resolve. We felt an almost primal fierceness, as if the very essence of Mount Agung was coursing through our veins. With our blissevoirs activated, we carried on.
With our flashlights gone, we followed Komang’s guiding light like shadows in the night. We stumbled and tripped, but that inner power kept propelling us forward. Strange melodies played in our minds, and we nomadically moved with the agility of seasoned athletes. We were no longer individuals; we were forces of nature, pushing ourselves beyond our limits.
We reached the summit just a few minutes after the beautiful sunrise. As we sat there, enveloped by the ethereal embrace of the clouds and bathed in the soft colours of dawn, the beauty of Bali Island stretched out before us like a dream. It was an awe-inspiring sight. Komang began to chant mantras, infusing the moment with an indescribable sense of tranquility and connection to the world around us.
In that fleeting moment in time, perched atop Mount Agung, I experienced one of the most profound and exhilarating accomplishments of my life. The feeling of triumph was not just physical; it resonated deep within my soul, that when we tap into our inner strength and push beyond our perceived limits, we can achieve greatness beyond our wildest dreams.

BLISS BUILDING TREASURE
INNER POWER
BLISS BUILDING TECHNIQUE: ACTIVATE YOUR BLISSEVOIR
Visualization is by far one of my most treasured techniques. And it is absolutely essential for harnessing your blissevoir. This visualization technique empowers you to tap into your blissevoir, unlocking your inner strength and motivation to conquer your aspirations.
1: Start by clearly defining the specific goal you want to achieve. Now take a few moments to connect with God and your inner blissevoir.
2: Imagine your goal as a majestic mountain that you want to climb. Visualize its peak representing the successful achievement of your goal. Give your mountain a name that symbolizes your goal, like “Mount Victory” or “Summit of Success.”
3: Just as you would prepare for a real mountain climb, prepare for your visual mountain climb. Identify the necessary skills, resources, and knowledge you need to succeed. Make a plan and gather your metaphorical climbing gear.
4: Now, find a quiet, comfortable place to sit or lie down. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths to relax.
Begin to visualize yourself at the base of your mountain of achievement. Picture the mountain in vivid detail: its rocky terrain, the lush forests at the base, and the challenging path ahead. See yourself taking the first step, filled with determination and focus. As you climb, visualize what kind of ‘gear’ you need to get to the top? Do any obstacles come up and how do you overcome them. Feel the effort, the setbacks, and the moments of triumph as you ascend. (This is a time in your visualization to receive information and gain perspective on your goal that will help you navigate it in your life.) Now, imagine reaching the halfway point and feel, see an image your confidence growing. Visualize the breathtaking views from higher up, representing your progress toward your goal.
Finally, see yourself standing proudly at the summit of your mountain, having successfully achieved your goal. Feel the sense of accomplishment and inner power.
5: While atop your metaphorical mountain, take inspiration from Komang, my Balinese guide, and recite positive mantras or affirmations related to your goal. Allow these affirmations to further connect you with your objective.
6: Take a moment to immerse yourself in the emotions you’d feel upon achieving your goal. Feel the bliss, power, and confidence flowing through you.
7: Slowly open your eyes and return to the present moment. Carry the sense of accomplishment and inner power with you throughout your day and always!
Use the motivation and confidence you’ve gained from this visualization to take concrete steps toward your goal.
8. Get our your journal and sparkly pen and break your goal down into manageable tasks and commit to them. Write down any information of ideas you received during your active visualization!
